Game Help

Imperian has hundreds of help files to help you learn more about the game and how to play.

19.6.2 HELPEDIT

The help scrolls of Imperian are the first and greatest window through which players, new and old alike, look to learn more about the game. While the administration tries our best to keep them up to date, sometimes old information gets overlooked and small mistakes like typos are always at large. The good news is that you can help us catch them! While the TYPO command can be used for issues with mobs, quests and sundry, the HELPEDIT syntax is a much more efficient way to submit reports on help scrolls and can earn you a reward in gold or credits as well.
Note: When referring to a file in the HELPEDIT command, both the title and index can be used to reference it; for example, both HELPEDIT EDIT helpedit and HELPEDIT EDIT 19.6.2 will open this file for editing.

Syntax:

   HELPEDIT LIST
      - This command will show a list of helpedit files you are currently working on.

   HELPEDIT EDIT <file>
      - Begin creating a proposal for a help file. If you already have a proposal open on this file, your proposal will be opened instead. This proposal will not be viewable by other players and will stay in your list until you submit or delete it. Using this command will open the current help file's text in the editor.

   HELPEDIT VIEW <file>
      - Shows your proposal for the file.

   HELPEDIT DIFF <file>
      - Shows your proposal for the file and highlights the differences between it and the current file. Current text will be shown in red; your proposed revisions will be shown in blue.

   HELPEDIT SUBMIT <file>
      - Submits your proposal to be reviewed and approved by an administrator.

   HELPEDIT COMMENT <file> : <comment>
      - Annotate your proposal. If there is anything extra you want to make known to the administrator reviewing your proposal, this is the place to put it.

   HELPEDIT DELETE <file>
      - Delete a proposal from your list permanently. This will have no effect on the actual help file, just your proposal.
