12.5.9 Mavitt Woods

Just north of the Catclaw Creek in the centre of the Cuhpfehr hills is the Mavitt woods. The maze of ferns and wide cracks of steam vents gives perfect conditions for production of saltpetre.

With its sickly pond and a few jagged cliffs that lead to the mountains which grace the Areish's slopes, this small forest is home to the strange creatures called Rimpins and their carnivorous flower companions. This forest's mysteries will unfold themselves here from the knowledge of the old coot Crankle and the over-protective gryphon, who is nestled in her concealed nest in the northwest of the woods.
