Self reflection

What is this feeling beginning to start?
Maybe it's darkness taking its toll.
Have I truly lost my heart?
Or maybe it's darkness, taking its toll.

My eyes water, my hands begin to shake.
Is this the beast trying to get free?
Now the evil inside is ready to wake.
Is this a reflection, of the inner me?

Dark visions flash before my eyes,
the beast begins to take control.
All the right I once did were lies,
lies intended, to darken my soul.

Now as destiny completes its task,
the darkness has consumed my mind.
The kindness of my face was just a mask.
A mask for my darkness, to leave behind.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Letum, in the year 406 AD.
