Greetings again,
Thank you for calling me an indoctrinated forestal. That was one of the
best ideas for new title for me. Thank you again.
Now, some facts.
Imagine there is no pricelist set.
Mr A: Hey, B. I need 100 quince.
Mr B: Hey, A. 1000 gold total.
Mr A: You kiddning, right?
Mr B: No, I sell it at this price.
Mr A: Get lost then, C sells it at 500.
Mr B: No, wait.. I can sell it at 300.
Mr A: Ok!
Do you need explanation to this? There you go.
With no minimum price, everyone will sell lower than everyone else, just
to make sure that they will earn that gold. Lower prices mean people
will buy more herbs, so you have to harvest more. The more you harvest,
and the more people will buy, the more other people will lower their
prices, so that they can get your customers to them. Then you will lower
prices to make those customers come back to you. Yay! Excellent idea.
Why not price all herbs at 1 gold per 100000 and make harvesting a
charity work. I personally find harvesting boring and I don't do that
often. I try to keep but a few of each herb and do refills to get some
food and one or two credits to learn arts of hunters.
Want something more? There you go again.
The more you lower your prices, the more herbs will be sold, so you have
to harvest more and more and more. This leads to a state, when each
plant in pretty much every location is harvested to set minimums. What
should do someone who wants to harvest herbs neccesary to do a couple of
health refills so h/she may continue hunting? Look for some odd herb
here and there? Overharvest? Or head to some merchant to buy it? Well,
of course, one would say 'go and buy it'... but most would either ask
some friend to do the refill or overharvest, hoping that herbs will grow
fast enought to hide the fact of overharvesting. Yay, overharvesting is
harming nature!
Yep. Don't set minimums. Let each Bard sell their work for 1 gold
sovereign. Let each concoctionst sell herbs at 1 gold sovereign. Let
each Saboteur sell toxins at 1 gold sovereign. Hey, if that's gonna work
this way, let's make people sell credits at 1 gold sovereign per. Have
you ever tried 'underpricing' credits? No? Try. Or maybe it's a good
idea to destroy gold? Let's not pay for anything, let's thing everything
is granted. Yeah, that'd be a great world.........
