A Forestal Dream

Written by: Voice of the Seasons, Lyrith Da'Saison, Cleric of the Wheel
Date: Tuesday, April 22nd, 2003
Addressed to: Everyone

Eyes closed, I lay in my bed with thoughts stirring inside my head.
Sheets curled about me as I try to rest, otherwise unadorned and rather
undressed.
My mind wanders to my family's root, the same tree as Darrin's but
another off-shoot.
Bloodline of old, always connected and turning like the cycling of sun
always burning.
The roots did preach change as constant and a respect for life, each
man, beast, and plant.
Thus as I dwell upon my old family creed, I drift out of consciousness
and right into sleep.
In what seems the next moment I open my eyes, and my gaze is met with a
quite large surprise.
All around me is a warm, sturdy breeze, and not far below me are the
tops of tall trees.
Gliding through the air, I gaze all around, taking in the splendor -
sight, scent, and sound.
But to the ground I descend gradually, and with a deep breath I take a
step tentatively.
I blink my eyes and a vision falls upon me - a Great Wheel spinning
slowly near a flourishing tree.
However, though it seems utterly strange, as the Wheel turns so seems
the tree to change.
From vibrant green, to autumn shades, and finally to bare aside from
snow - how it could happen, I do not know.
And then at once I realize this is the Wheel, the Seasons truly
characterized.
A voice then speaks as if in my head, "The Wheel ever turns from being
born to being dead."
"Then the cycle resumes for those left behind, a circle so intricate
that all are entwined."
Then I speak as if compelled, my fear decreased, "The world would grow
stagnant if the turning ever ceased."
This spoken before the Wheel, I humbly kneel and close my eyes, and
immediately again I feel my body begin to rise.
After what seems a mere moment with just air beneath, I begin once again
to feel my warm sheets.
And with this small exchange, my spirit feels compelled to share with
others this knowledge unveiled.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Vita, in the year 403 AD.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
