Conquest Awakens

Thunder rolled across the firmament on the 23rd of Solis in the 6th year of the Age of Mortals, a distant, dull roar that grew with the storm that birthed it over the Areish Mountains. There in a barren stretch of rocky outcropping where even grass has to fight for life a gathering of mortals took place, overseen by the entity Zhiash as they surrounded the altar of Conquest. The storm growing overhead fueld by the dormant power within the stone altar did not stop the gathered members as they partook in a blood rite that would bind they and their fellows as one, as something the entity would only hint at as being greater than what they were.

A bolt of lighting split the darkness from the gathered clouds, slamming into the altar and enveloping the entity and the altar in its sudden and brilliant flash. When the vision of those who had gathered returned, the entity Zhiash was gone, and in her stead stood the Ascendari Hastati.

The Cult of Conquest was no more, their belief strong enough to raise them to the status of Sect with the binding of Hastati, Ascendari of Conquest, the first of many Sects to come.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Halitus, in the year 6 AM.
