The fate of Duil'en

In the depths of the Nocteil Glades, a voice was heard to cry out for
help, weak and trembling. Quickly searching the area with the innate
knowledge of the Hunters, Ikitae Da'Saison discovered Duil'en, the
earthen sage, damaged and bleeding from an attack by the Hoard and
threatened by Orcan assassins. Unable to stand against the sudden attack
by several orcs, she was forced to flee. Moments later, Trenon, the Fist
of Vahin, who arrived in answer to a call for aid, quickly leapt to the
defense of the sage. Soon followed by Cyrius and Song who join in the
fray.

Song was forced to flee through the vicious toxins wielded by the
goblins, but between them Trenon and Cyrius disposed of the rest of the
creatures. Meanwhile, Ikitae had gone for help, quickly finding Maelin
and Megan whom followed her back to Duil'en, along with Calis. His
wounds already deep, Duil'en regretfully rejected Megan's offer of the
safety of Antioch, as he was soon to die. He then entrusted a small back
of dirt that contained a mysterious root to Trenon, warning him with a
last, dying breath to guard it from the hoard.

Perhaps alerted by the death of the sage, perhaps by the root now in
mortal hands, the Creator manifested before the gathered group,
informing them that within a month Chur, the feared captain of the
Ogres, would come to seek his prize. Gifting the mortal realm with the
power of Clairvoyance in order to keep track of the location of the
root, He warned them that it could not be taken inside, nor dropped,
lest it vanish away. As the situation stands, Trenon guards the strange
bequest of the earthen sage, and none know of what it may in time
become. Only time will tell whether Chur will succeed in capturing his
prize, if Trenon will succeed in his task, or if another mortal may take
it from him.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Letum, in the year 409 AD.

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
