Wytchen and Lorekeeper Classleads

One of the biggest complaints for these two classes, especially with
Lorekeepers, is the ability to use runes effectively in the middle of a
fight.

For the most part I was given lists new runes, with many great effects,
which does nothing to fix the inability to use existing runes (or even
the new runes) in the middle of combat, with effect. The other
suggestion was basically adjusting runes to work just like rites and
vibes. I have no desire to make any skills 'work like' any other skills.

As such we have come up with a way to use rune in the middle of combat
with a new skill called 'Circles'. I will say nothing more in this post,
only that you should be on the look out for them. Those with the skill
can look at their ability files for how they work.

GENERAL CHANGES
- Skills that cure random afflictions should get them all now.
There were a couple missing.
- Skills that randomly cure a mental or a physical affliction, should
have them all included properly now.
- Weakness is no longer a mental affliction, but a physical affliction.

RUNELORE
- New Skill: CIRCLES
- Concerning circles, there are more 'special effect' combinations,
then listed in the ab file.
- A player will now be hit, if they are unblinded while in a room with
runes.
- A player can only be hit once, by runes in the same room with him. In
other words, you cannot continually blind then heal your target and
have them hit repeatedly.
- Movement from a room, will allow you to be hit by the runes again,
_if_ you return to the room later. For example, if you are hit by
runes in a room, leave (or change elevation) and later return to the
same room, you can be hit by them again.
- The only way you cannot be hit by the same runes twice, is to stay in
the room.
- Having crippled legs will no longer effect your ability to sketch.
- The Raido rune will not work if you do not have balance, eq, and
have certain afflictions.
- The Raido rune no longer be used up if it fails fire.
- Hugalaz will give 3rd party messages when a target is struck.

VODUN
- You can no longer gain illwill if the target is phased or shielded.
- You will now be informed of what defense you strip.
- Fashioning will give 3rd party messages again. With less fashions
needed, this should not be as spammy.
- Vodun summon will give a message to the summoned player now.
- You can now VODUN LISTEN OFF.
- Aeon wears off much faster now.
- Concussion now give the player an affliction message.
- Increased the cost of illwill for mangle.
- Summon will only work from the same area, unless the target has allied
you.

CURSES
- The SWIFTCURSE command is no longer a defense. It will now work just
like CURSE, but will be faster, with a higher mana cost.
- Blight also works just like CURSE, but masks the affliction message
at a cost to mana. It cannot be combined with swiftcurse.
- Swiftcurse is slightly slower then it once was in order to deal
with the fact that you no longer have to put up the defense to use it.

CHIVALRY (and Brutality)
- New Skill: FEINTSLASH
- New Skill: DISPLACEMENT
- Disembowel damage was previously set to do 85% of a targets health in
damage. However the damage routine was factoring in armour, avoidance,
etc. Disembowel will now do less damage, but it will be unmodified
damage. So it will not take any factors into account when reducing the
damage given.
- You will now get a message when your pet delivers its item (this is a
taming wide change as well).

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
