Gold Sinks - Suggestions

Greetings.

After finishing the current round of bug fixes, one of the things that I
want to focus on is the game economy. As many of you have experienced
first-hand, we are in need of more things to spend the in-game gold on -
the so-called "gold sinks".

We have some ideas about possible additions in this regard - most are
boring, some are not - but we are always in need of more. And so we are
now looking for suggestions - what interesting new gold sinks would you
like to see implemented? If you have (or want to have) a lot of gold,
but see nothing to spend it on, here is your chance to help us change
it.

You can either post your ideas in-game using the IDEA command, or on our
forums at http://forums.imperian.com/index.php?showtopic=9174 -
whichever you prefer. I will finish this round of bug fixes first, so
there is no need to hurry with your suggestions.

So that you don't spend time on suggestions that would not be
acceptable, here are some guidelines regarding what we are or are not
looking for:

- We aren't really interested in any significant reductions of the
amount of gold that can be obtained. We know that high-level players can
obtain considerable amounts of gold, but simply reducing that is an easy
way out, and we can do better than that.

- Please try to think of things that would actually be interesting to
have - selling experience bonuses and damage reductions is easy, but
also boring. Perhaps we'll do some of that too, but we'd like to hear
other types of suggestions.

- An important thing: anything that would be offered must be
non-essential. Think things like convenience and luxury items, extra
content, and similar. We want to offer players a way to spend their
gold, not penalise those who don't yet have so much of it.

- For that reason, we aren't going to do anything that would offer
significant combat-related advantages. Sufficiently restricted
advantages may be acceptable, however.

- For obvious reasons, we would most likely not be doing anything that
would replicate the functionality of existing artifacts. Tokens of the
Creator are also off-limit.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
