9.2.1 Profession Ranks

When you first learn a new profession as a new player, you will start ranked as a novice in that profession. There are three profession ranks for each profession: Novice, Apprentice, and Master. Each rank has different requirements and advantages as you progress through them.

NOVICE
- Your rank in any profession will be novice if you are level 50 or lower.
- A novice in a profession will be automatically promoted to apprentice when he/she has reached level 51.
- If a novice forgets the profession or individual skills within the profession, he/she will receive 100% of the lessons spent back.

APPRENTICE
- You may advance from novice to apprentice profession rank by advancing to level 51.
- Your rank in a profession will be apprentice if you have spent less than roughly 1500 lessons in total across all of the skills in that profession.
- Advancement to apprentice will only update once you have reached level 51.
- If an apprentice forgets the profession or individual skills within the profession, he/she will receive 90% of the lessons spent back.
- You can view your progress in the apprentice profession rank by using the PROFESSIONS command. You will see how close you are to reaching the master profession rank in all of your professions.

MASTER
- You may advance from apprentice to master profession rank by spending more than roughly 1500 lessons in your profession's skills.
- If a master forgets the profession or individual skills within the profession, he/she will receive 50% of the spent lessons back.
- Once a master, always a master. If you reach the master rank in a profession, you cannot go back to apprentice unless you completely forget that profession and relearn it again.
- Masters relearn profession skills twice as fast when switching back to a profession that they have previously mastered.
- A master can apprentice players to the profession. For more information, read HELP APPRENTICE or HELP MASTER.
