A Dictator in the Midst

Almost five years ago, a young girl left her home and guild, to move to
Kinsarmar, and join the Mages, which she thought would be fair, and
just, unlike her home of Stavenn. Little did she know how grossly wrong
she was. You see, it turned out that the very guild she went, the mages,
were very controling of their own power. And as the years progressed
this leadership became more and more concerned with itself, up until
recently where the paranoia of a failing dictatorship has come forth.

Raife, fearing that he would soon lose his seat as dictator decided it
would be best to attempt to quiet the voices of dissent. He felt he
needed secure his position by scaring the people he is supposed to serve
into silence. He has failed. The only thing he did was to relocate our
dissent. Caes, Talen, and Me are still Mages, rather we are in the guild
or not. Raife only stripped our titles, in an attempt to strip our voice
and dignity. He doomed his guild into the down word spiral of a
dictatorship, with members of the leadership actually saying "Wait till
they go public about the outguilding, that way we know what they are
saying, and what reasons to give for the outguilding."

These ignoble dictators of the mages have spyed on their members,
attempted to manipulate the younger minds, and when these people saw
through it, they went and deflamed them on public channels, much like
Loxley did last month on Kinsarmar.

Raife, the only thing your outguilding of me did, was confirm that you
are in fact a Dictator. Peora, your comments to Caes only comfirm that
you lack the wisdom to even lie well, much less lead a guild.

Is it a crime to use a voice that we are encouraged to use, is it a
crime to defend a guildmember and friend, or to help them when they are
being killed over and over again. But Raife, my voice will not be
silenced, for I do not bow to dictators. My history has been marred by
the actions of men like you, and I grow weary of power hungry dictators
using their braun when the minds of your would be slaves are able to see
past your illusion.

You remember what you said to me so many years ago the last time I had
seeked refuge in Khandava. You told me that when all things are said and
done, power hungry and evil men get what comes to them. Your reign of
fear and brutality will soon be over Raife, one way or another, it will
end.

A warning to all current mages, do not let the Circle of Water's
intimdation and threats scare you. Now is the time for you to stand up,
and throw down this dictatorship. They can't outguild you all. Let the
injustice served to me, serve as an alarm to you. Right the wrong, and
bring back hope, and glory to the mages.

It is indeed a dark time for my guild.

Sorceress Aria Amakiir the Pink, Mage

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Letum, in the year 426 AD.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
