The Templars

Greetings.

I will make this brief, as I do not wish to bore you all with ideals and
conflicting opinions. Many have stated here that Undeath does not belong
in Aetherius, yet it exists nevertheless. The necromancers discovered
their powers to animate the dead long ago... Why only now have people
decided it is unacceptable? Perhaps to a necromancer, the idea of having
their soul ripped from Dis and placed back in their body by a Cleric or
Arboreal would be just as repugnant as their animations are to you. Put
simply, there is always more than one side to an argument. "Good" is not
the natural state of the world, things always find a balance.

On another note, Undeath has been the only thing mentioned here since
the Templars' founding message from Aronus (unless I have missed a post
or two). What about the demons they claim to hate so much as well? Do
these creatures have no place in the scheme of things either? Demons are
what is generally thought of as "evil", yes. They do revel in
desctuction and hatred, and they do not hold the same respect for life
as many of us mortals seem to. But does this mean that they should all
be destroyed, and that they should not exist at all? In all my years
studying and conversing with these demons, I have had my share of close
encounters. Anyone who studies the Pit or demons I am sure has had their
own share. We are still alive, though. And we are not changed, for the
most part, from our true selves. Even those who bear the appearance of a
demon do so from their own abilities, not from any unholy bondage.

In closing, I see no reason why a clan preaching righteousness and
justice should attempt mass genocide of scholars and great warriors
simply because of their subject matter. Evil is just as much a part of
this world as your good.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
