Clarification of the term "honour"

Dearest Astridyna,

I believe you are confusing the term honour with kindness, or perhaps
compassion. In this, you are wrong. We, the Diavlous, are not kind or
compassionate. We do not deal with small, fluffy woodland creatures and
we do not tell bed-time stories to children. We are a military
organization, the Knights of Stavenn. We proudly serve our city with our
lives, our minds, and our souls. That is honour. Our loyalties lie with
our guild and our guildmates, and Stavenn and its citizens. That is
honour. We have a certain amount of respect for our enemies, at least
those that have the courage to fight us face-to-face, without teaming.
That is honour. We live and die without fear. That is honour. We strive
to succeed in all our endeavors, whether it be combat, politics, or
service. That is honour. Yes, we are brutal, and it is our courage and
honour that makes our brutality so powerful and effective. You were
quite correct when you said you had no honour you are a traitor, having
betrayed your guild and your city. You didn't just leave us - you stole
our gold, gold that had been painstakingly hoarded by generations of
Diavlous. You are a thief.
The Diavlous guild is my life. It is my job, my marriage, my home. My
guild mates are my comrades they are my family. We live together and we
will die together. We will serve Stavenn until the mountains crumble and
the moons disintegrate. Anyone who can leave such a life and such an
incredible duty is a coward and has no right to call themselves a
Diavlous.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
