Greetings,
Every single thing cost gold. Credits cost gold, weapons cost gold,
toxins cost gold and herbs cost gold. Each item that can be sold must be
first made. Forgers forge weapons, saboteurs milk toxins and
concoctionists harvest plants. As a former huntress, you surely know
that harvesting takes time. It takes less time to milk a full vial of
toxin so herbs are priced less. And believe me or not, till gold exists,
everything will have its price.
Since I joined hunters, I've found out that you 'underprice' official
pricelist agreed by both Arboreals and Hunters. Not too much, but you
still do it. Lavinia's post about new pricelist was made about 3 months
after it came into use, and I believe that you wouldn't change your
prices if there was no such post, unless one of your 'suppliers' told
you about it. And I find it amusing that you generaly price all herbs a
bit less than official prices are set at, so I still believe your 'fight
for no set pricelist' is just a way of marketing your cheaper herbs. Why
do I think so? Well, the prices you have set currently could be set in
your post #182, a few years ago. It would be great for your 'fight' but
not great for your pockets. Will you lower prices everytime official
prices are lowered? I think yes. Will you ever set one price, lower than
official pricelist, much lower? No, because you would lose gold you
surely gain from selling herbs. Why? Because you would risk that your
'one time pricelist' would someday occur to be actualy worse than the
official one. So please, don't tell us all you 'fight' for something.
You just found a better way to market you as a herb seller, not a
'democracy' fighter.
And if your suppliers are supplying you with cheaper herbs, then they
break a guild rule... and it's obvious that they have joined either
Arboreals or Hunters guild only to be taught how to harvest plants or
concoct elixirs and salves. They shouldn't be part of any of those
guilds.
Two last things. If I gave you 100 quince, because you are my friend,
and then you sold it to someone for any amount of gold, wouldn't that be
abuse of my friendship and kindness? Think about it. And about Arboreals
enemying you.. They have full right. You seem to, as most of us do,
treat herbs as a granted gift. Well, they are not. Arboreals and Hunters
protect wildlife, and from what I have heard and read, you, as a
huntress, spent hours and hours harvesting thousands of herbs. Isn't
that harming nature? One should harvest as much as one needs, not as
much as one can, making rift unable to hold any more.
