Tides And Tempests

I come to you like the patient tide,
Arms of water open wide.
I offer shells, soft songs, and sand,
Yet find rejection on the strand.

Your gaze is sharp, a reef of stone,
It cuts, it chills, it leaves me lone.
Each word you cast, a breaking wave,
A tempest wild I cannot save.

Still, I return, as oceans do,
Bringing treasures, calm, and blue.
Though storms may roar and ships may sink,
My depths hold more than you might think.

For love is salt -- eternal and deep,
It carves through rock, though slow, it keeps.
And one day storms may ease their swell,
And hear the love I meant to tell.

Till then, I'll wait upon your shore,
A sea that loves, though you abhor.
For every tide returns again,
Hoping to wash away the pain.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Vita, in the year 379 AM.
