Happy Birthday

Written by: Noralie Shinpachi
Date: Saturday, January 23rd, 2010
Addressed to: Lady Ishtar Tellaris

Alight she came
hither and to
Flames leaping high
'round scales of alabaster hue

A pardon and cue
concern and gentle smile
Thanks shared and welcomed
from one a bright eyed child

A pleasant exchange
words light and gay
A sigh of parting thought
once more a dull birthday

Alas such things they cannot stand
And just as time has played its hand
So too this young but cheery soul
Will play her part and jovial role

So this the two hundredth and sixteenth year
of one that has lived and loved and died
Shall not pass quietly nor in private cheers
but in recognition of times laughed
times cried

While somethings cannot be made or bought
Some sovereigns cannot enough be sought
So I offer what best I can
When one already has things in hand

No material substance used
I give you the grace of a child like muse
And in the memory of all past frays
I wish you, Madame Ishtar, a happy birthday

Noralie

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Bellum, in the year 599 AD.

Onward to 2021
