Your eyes on mine and mine on yours
We gaze longingly, hearts forbidden
How long the time before the wall between us falls I know not
If we shall ever walk hand in paw I cannot say
Would our bond survive I fear is the question that matters most

And I stand a silhouette against the night
Waiting forever more that our time shall come
Darkness is my comfort, Light is yours
For you I have something that is beyond words
Though my hands are bound, my soul is unchained

In mine own blood I would conjure wonders to protect you
In mine own spirit I would build walls that only you could breach
In mine own hands I would hold so gently your heart
Yours truly, dog of the wooden city, born of the untamed lands
I would never fail in my devotion to you oh precious rose

Should our hearts not cross, should you find another?
I will never hold a bitter thought against you
Precious rose that you are, true love does not turn on its heel when
unfulfilled
For your soul I shall pray eternal, your happiness my desire

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Aequitas, in the year 404 AD.
