just

we are
but grains of sand in
His hourglass -
hearts atop His scales
balanced like eggs against
feathers, tossed about the fierce
desert winds

oh, Antioch!
your walls rise like sturdy
shoulders, unyielding -
wielding our blades like an
extension of His mighty hands,
levying His Justice with swift
and even temper

may we
ever swiftly moving, remember
always the harsh desert lessons...
he who acts with quick decision,
first finds the shade,
his enemies seared in the fierce
desert heat

Praises to Vahin, the Protector,
Lady Reya Ki'anthe

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Ultio, in the year 401 AF.
