IRRITATING

This is the first day
of the rest of time
again and again
amidst a boring sigh
just throw the clock out the window
and day stills turns to night
time and the constant burning of the midnight oil
could make the brave die of fright
A boring poets false resolve
leads to some threat or promise
threatening in that everything is so irritating
promising in that everything is the same
--Youll always know what to expect--
and youll never be caught by surprise
from worldly resources; all those forming, blowing
and foaming before your eyes.

Feel my pain: Take my pain
Cut me out of this faulty design
while time yet remains
give what will go, render unto mine
Find me, leave me alone
bring a friend, if possible
take my heart with you; it will find its place
an answer is lost
So youve said, but still you wont
but I will
dont worry, just sing me to sleep
and cover me with six feet of earth
--I promise to lay still--
and youll never be caught by surprise
youll always know what to expect
everything is so irritating.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Artificium, in the year 422 AD.

Onward to 2021
