The Doubting Pilgrim

It was late in the night when a wayward soul sought audience with the old Archpriest of Death, Chaken.

Curious questions filled the shadowed alcove in the old temple of Death, and Chaken answered each of his visitor's inquiries in a gruffness that betrayed his advanced years.

Together, the pair discussed the finer minutiae of Chaken and Charon's quest to repair the broken Mirror of Souls. The Mirror, theorized the Archpriest, could never be harnessed by the Legion - for when that monstrisity was yet a God he could not overcome the Creator and his Siblings.

The conversation quickly steered towards Ananda, Luriele and Hadrak's plan to step from this realm into the Underworld unaltered. Chaken was adamant that despite getting their hands upon one of his treatises, they would be unable to replicate the rituals accurately, nor strike a fatal blow to the Legion. As Chaken boldly decried, "If the Gods before us could not manage it Themselves, what chance would mortals?"

From there the conversation petered out, but one thing was certain: the wayward pilgrim pledged their allegiance to embolded Chaken and Charon's efforts.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Solis, in the year 111 AM.
