Hunters, Arboreals, and Magick

We currently held referendums in the Arboreal and Hunter guilds in an
attempt to get player input on some changes to their skills in
conjunction with the Concoctions changes that would have affected their
role and stance in Imperian.

The result of the referendum in the Hunters guild was 15 voting against
the Hunters being defined as a magickal class, and 9 voting for. The
result of the referendum in the Arboreals guild was 13 voting for the
Arboreals being defined as a magickal class, and 5 voting against.

When Naturalism is added as a new guild skill to replace Concoctions, it
will be a magickal skill, and as such, the Arboreals will be a magickal
guild and class.

The Hunters are in a different position, as we wanted the Hunter guild
to serve a purpose and have a stance in the realm-wide conflict of
magick, anti-magick, and demons. However, we don't want to do this in
such a way that any existing Hunters have their characters, their role,
and all of their hard work swept out from under them. There are
obviously many Hunters that would be more drastically affected by our
changes than Arboreals.

We've decided that we're going to make the Hunter guild and Hunter class
objectively magickal with our additions and changes to the version of
Trailblazing that they are going to receive.

What we're also going to create is a new class that's very similar to
the Hunters class, but instead will have the standard anti-magick
version of Trailblazing that the Wardens currently have. This class will
be called the Outriders. Since the Hunters guild will be magickal, you
will not be able to be a member of the Hunters and have Outrider class.
I understand that this is unfortunate for members of the Hunters guild
who still want to take an anti-magick stance, but we feel that this is a
suitable compromise as it will allow all members of the class to retain
any skills, artifacts, and roleplay that they currently have, while
allowing us to clean up the confusion that exists within that class and
guild.

When all of these changes are completed and released, I'll also be
releasing information on how existing Hunters can become Outriders.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021
