Greetings, mortals.

I would like to announce the next literary contest that all of you are
invited to participate in. The theme this time will be as follows: "The
Impact of Civilization Upon Aetherius."

I will equally and fairly consider the submissions on the basis of the
merits of the writings, as opposed to the particular opinions of the
author. In other words, if you choose to write about how civilization
has negatively impacted the world around, I will still consider that
stance equally as valid as one that extolls the virtues of civilization.

I am accepting two types of submissions for this contest: either poetry,
or short fiction no greater than 500 words in length. Bear in mind that
these are not two categories, but you can do one or the other, with only
one submission per person. Extra consideration will be given to poetry
that conveys its message within the limitations of structured metre
and/or verse (e.g.: a sonnet may warrant more attention than a scattered
free verse poem). Additionally, submissions that most closely adhere to
the theme will be more likely to garner a closer look.

First place will receive 300 credits, while second place will be awarded
200 credits, and third place will win 100 credits.

This contest will run for exactly one month, with submissions being
accepted until 23:59 GMT on April 28th 2006. The winners will be
revealed on May 1st.
