Crafting Changes

The crafting guild has discussed, created, and clarified some of our
policies. It has been the subject of much debate, the results of which
are as follows:

The duster item is going to be removed, and no more will be approved, as
it does not fit into this realm.

The use of the words 'thong', 'mini-skirt', and 'cropped pants' or
'capri pants' will no longer be allowed, as these terms are too
'modern'. You may still make these items, but you will need to describe
what the item actually looks like rather than apply one of these names
to it.

No names of or references to places or cultures outside of this realm
will be approved. This includes things like 'Caesar salad', 'Swiss
cheese', and 'French Onion Soup'. This applies primarily to cooking, but
you should keep it in mind for other crafts as well.

Items that are or appear to be magick still will not be approved.

As there is always some question of which materials are allowed,
especially for tailoring and jewelry, use these guidelines, and it is
likely your item will be approved.

-If it is something you can hunt on a regular basis, it can be used for
skins or meat. This does include player races as long as there are
mobiles of this race, but it does not include individual players or
mobiles. While it is permissable to have 'a Lycaean hide cloak', it is
not okay to have 'a cloak made from the hide of Fenrir'. This does -not-
include demons, as demons are not common.

-Keep in mind that in some items, a certain material will be approved,
and in others, it will be rejected. For instance, earrings decorated
with the wings of a butterfly are acceptable, but a gown made of
butterfly wings does not make sense. Keep it reasonable, and you will be
fine.

-If the creature you wish to use in a crafting item does not exist in
this realm, it will not be approved. This does not apply to the use of
images of creatures that may not exist in our world but are a part of
our lore.

The crafting guild realizes that in the past, items that do not meet
these qualifications have been approved, but these standards have now
been set and will be used. If you have any questions about anything I
have posted here or designs in general, TELL YVARIA. If I do not
respond, try again later.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing your designs!

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
