Engineering

We have released a new general skill today, Engineering. This skill can
be learned by anyone and has a good deal of items you can make with it
(close to 40 items).

A good deal of them are handy items anyone can use. Others are seige
machines that are for city defences, city raids, etc. Some work with
magick, others do not. This skill idea is a big change for the way large
scale conflicts can happen, as you can move seige weapons outside of
cities. (Although guards will only man them in the cities.) If you
decide to learn this skill, keep in mind that we could potentially make
significant changes to the way it works, based on how it gets used. This
could mean improvements or downgrades. The points is, we will will be
watching very closely so we do not end up with another episode like
bowmanship.

Another thing to point out is that this is the first phase of a new war
system, which will are slowly phasing in over the next few months. I
would expect it to be totally in by the middle of the year.

At any rate, please message me, email me, post on the forum, whatever,
and give feedback on how the skills and items are working. There will
undoubtably be many bugs in it for the next couple of weeks as we try to
iron it out.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Vita, in the year 455 AD.
