Trial by Combat

Salutations, mortals.

In recent times, the Pantheon has sought out those amongst you whom are
adept at artistic expression, whether by word or brush, and given awards
to those deemed most worthy. However, now Our attention turns towards
those of you proficient in a more physical art form, that of battle
against your peers.

To this end, it pleases Me to announce that there shall be Trial by
Combat within the ruins of the Coliseum. As there are those of you
throughout the land with varying degrees of experience, there shall be
three distinct tiers, into one of which you may enter. The first being
for those of you between the levels of twenty-one and forty-nine, the
second for those between fifty and seventy-nine, and the final tier for
those of level eighty and above.

At the times below, the Coliseum shall be opened for those wish to
compete. Those who are present in the Challenge area at the time will be
accepted into the appropriate tier, any who do not attend will be
assumed not to compete. Participants will be randomly assigned to a
partner, with the loosing individual of the heat being removed from the
contest. After the finalists have become clear, there will be several
set spars that will establish the ultimate victor in each tier.

Dates
-----

The first tier open challenge shall occur at 2300 GMT, by the TIME
command, on Monday 16th of August.
The second tier open challenge shall be at 2300 GMT on Tuesday 17th of
August.
The third tier open challenge shall occur 2300 GMT on Wednesday 18th of
August

The first tier finals will be at 2300 GMT, Monday 23rd August.
The second tier finals will be at 2300 GMT, Tuesday 24th August.
The third tier finals will be at 2300 GMT, Wednesday 25th August.

The finals will only be open to those who are the victors of the open
challenges the week before.

Prizes
------

The victor of the first tier (21-49) shall receive a level one artifact
weapon of the appropriate type for the victors' class.

The victor of the second tier (50-79) shall receive a level two artifact
weapon of the appropriate type for the victors' class.

The victor of the third tier (80+) shall receive a level three artifact
weapon of the appropriate type for the victors' class.

Rules
-----
Each contestant shall compete with another, the looser being cast out
and the victor continuing on to the next heat.

Each match shall be observed by a Deity as a judge.

There may be no interference from other participants during a match.

If anyone gains sufficient levels to be two levels higher than the
specific tier limitations once they have joined a tier, they will
automatically be withdrawn from the contest.

Three consecutive draws will be classed as a loss, and you will be
withdrawn from the contest.

Disconnecting and being killed will be classed as a loss. It is your
responsibility to see that you have the most stable link available
during your duel.

The Pantheon reserves the right to alter the rules as needed due to
circumstance.

I look forward to observing your efforts.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Ultio, in the year 440 AD.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
