We apologize for taking so long, but there were so many good designs it took quite some time to narrow it down to the top three. THEN we had to pick from those! Long overdo, I know, but here are our top three flowers! Congratulations!

1st place: Laaryet - a hoary frostflower
2nd place: Caelbrook - A blossoming sprig of pale gold and alabaster flowers
3rd place: Luciia - a frosted winter's rose

a hoary frostflower
A flicker of stark, icy white denotes the presence of an abandoned frostflower.
Stark, snowy white in hue, this delicate blossom looks as though it has weathered a deep, hard frost. Its tapering petals are spiked at the tips like icicles, and a faint blush of palest, icy blue-grey colour graces the base of each one. The frostflowers heart is composed of a tangle of breathtakingly thin, fragile stamens, resembling a cluster of spindly white hairs; each is coated in ice-white pollen, like a coating of glittering frost. The flower is virtually scentless, emitting only the faintest wisps of a sharp, cool fragrance.

a blossoming sprig of pale gold and alabaster flowers

Its petals in danger of wilting upon the ground, a blossoming sprig of pale gold and alabaster flowers lies forgotten here.

Scarcely more than three or four inches in spindly, twisting length, this delicate little sprig of dark, wine-red wood manages to host upon its spidery fingers a burgeoning wealth of ivory, gold-tinged blossoms, an ephemeral scent as distinctive as it is intoxicating wafting from each resplendent bloom. Petals of palest alabaster unfurl in diminutive clusters of no more than five to a flower, unfolding in graceful flourishes from a honeyed-heart of wheaten gold and warm amber hues; these aureate tinctures fade in a gentle mist over the waxy expanse of each fragile petal as though painted into existence on the end of an artist's brush. So dark as to be neary black upon cursory examination, a few ceraceous leaves of benighted evergreen yet cling to the little sprig, the dusky verdure rising up to frame the cluster of ivory blossoms in an becoming contrast of light and dark hues.

a frosted winter's rose

A frosted winter's rose sprouts from an icicle laden bush growing here.

Alabaster petals as soft as velvet comprise this full, blooming winter's rose. The heart of the flower is a deep sapphire blue, the colour fading into a frosty, lighter blue before the true, snow white hue dominates. Tiny droplets of opalescent dew cling to the petals and the hunter green stem, making it appear to be frosted and causing it to shimmer subtly when caressed by even the smallest amount of light.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Aequitas, in the year 99 AM.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
