Champions

With the ascension of Dias as the first Champion of Mortalkind, here is the technical information for Champions and the PK rules that apply to them:

To become a Champion:

- Go to the altar in the ancient temple in the Shaahri desert
- Lie down on the altar.
- Have someone else say "In the name of the all-powerful Avasyu, I sacrifice thee for the sake of mortalkind"
- Have that person SACRIFICE you on the altar.

This will turn you into an Apprentice Champion. You should then go out and kill the enemies of mortalkind (undead, horde, and demons) to raise your Champion strength. You can see your current Champion strength with the STAT command. When you reach 100%, you will become a full Champion.

Champion command syntax:

CHAMPION LIST
- View a list of the current full and apprentice Champion.
CHAMPION RANKINGS
- View the rankings for Champion kill streaks.

Full Champions receive double bashing and questing experience. Their names show up in the WHO list in a different colour. They are open to PK at any time, to any person. When you die, you will be demoted back to an Apprentice Champion. Apprentice Champions are not automatically open to PK by virtue of being a Champion.

In addition, each horde/undead/demon mob you kill and each other Champion you kill is counted as a score. This score is wiped when you die, but your highest streak is scored. At the end of the event, the Champions with the highest scores may receive extra rewards. If you find any mobs that should be counted towards your score but aren't, simply BUG the number of the mob and we'll get it fixed up for you as soon as possible.

PK Rules:

Full Champions are open PK at any time, for any reason. If you kill a Champion, he's probably going to be pretty pissed and he has every reason to come after you. Not 100 times, obviously, but you and he will be considered personal enemies in the eyes of the Administration.

Basically, don't be a jerk. Be reasonable. Have fun killing people, but don't ever go so far as to try to push them away from the game.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
