Soooo, a little bit of encouragement from the heavens for you today.
"Defending dwarves and mines and roots and all that stuff sucks. It costs too much, its hard to get help, I keep dying, please make it easier."
Yeah, but let me tell you how this event is looking from where we stand.
Six cities, all with a different plan. Even with in the cities there is plotting and planning. Look at the division it has made, the RP opportunities, the constant fighting, the shifting of alliances, people getting kicked out of their cities, new alliances, the huge shake up. People are talking about the morals of genocide, backstabbing each other, taking the hammer for themselves, trying to get to it first, killing everyone else, not letting anyone dig it up. It is AWESOME.
All from a tunnel, some dwarves, and a cheesy old dude?
Think about that! It totally rocks!
And we are just getting started!
Is it hard to do what you want? Yes. Is it way more fun than just doing step one, then step two, then step three, then huzzah we win? Heck yeah.
I figured this part of the event would take 3 or 4 days at most. We are already almost a week in. I have over 6 weeks of events planned for this event. It will not be a constant buckle down and kill each other the entire time, but I want to make it as fun and as intense as possible.
This may be the most epic event ever. The one you will be talking about for ages. The one where you won some, you lost some, you got killed a ton, you kill a ton, you get into heated political debates, you have to rally exhausted troops (players), you have to retreat and surrender. This is what makes our games the best! When you are emotionally connected to the game, the players, the events, the conversations, and the battles, the game is sooooo much more fun (and frustrating).
I don't care if it takes two weeks for Chapter One of the event to complete. When it is done, I want you to feel like it a battle. We are doing our best to react to players. In a couple cases Dranor and Garryn have pumped out a ton of code in a short of time. Our gods and celani (too many to mention), have been PUMPING out rooms and mobs. The final chapters in the event are plotted out, but we are constantly changing them based on what you do in the game.
At any rate, I know some of the mechanics make it hard. Getting corpses, paying gold, getting more comms, and so on. However, we are doing it that way on purpose. The level of difficulty will make it more memorable. Don't for a perfectly fair, evenly pitched situation at all times, it will not happen.
Remember, enjoy the experience of the event and the game. (and turn off the computer and take a nap once in a while)
