October's Event Quests

October's promotions are going to run a little bit differently, this month. In the place of weekly and daily promotions, we're running an entirely new promotion: event quests.

As you can see from the most recent Public post, the Horde has again invaded Aetherius. They have set up large forts near each of the cities and councils. There are a series of quests that you can perform to weaken these forts and the Horde that are manning them.

There are five quests that you can complete, once per day. They are:

Kill the Horde!
-----------------
- This quest is simple. Go to one of the six Horde forts and kill the orcs, ogres, giants, and goblins contained within. Kill ten of them, then return to Dutthryn in the western part of the Ruins of Caanae.
- The mobs in the Horde forts are worth very small amounts of experience, and will hardly drop any gold at all. The rewards you get for killing them will be folded into the quest rewards once you return to Dutthryn.

Burn their Supplies!
----------------------
- Go to Dutthryn and say the word "torch" to him. If he has a torch remaining, he will give it to you. If he doesn't have a torch, wait a few minutes and then try again.
- Go to one of the six Horde forts and find the storage room in that fort. Drop the torch on the ground with the mess of supplies there to hinder the Horde offensive.

Poison their Food!
--------------------
- Go to Dutthryn and say the word "poison" to him. If he has some poison remaining, he will give you a packet of it. If he doesn't have any poison, wait a few mintues and then try again.
- Go to one of the six Horde forts and find the mess hall in that fort. Place the poison in the cauldron of "stew" that you can find there.

Free the Slaves!
------------------
- As you kill the Horde in the forts, they will occasionally drop keys. Give those keys to the slaves found in the cells in the Horde fort. Rescue three slaves in this manner and return to Dutthryn.

Weaken the Walls!
-------------------
- Go to Dutthryn and say the word "bomb" to him. If he has any available bombs, he will give one to you. If he doesn't have a bomb, wait a few minutes and then try again.
- Go to one of the six Horde forts and find a room that is up against the walls of the fort. Drop the bomb next to the wall, and then return to Dutthryn.

Once you are finished with the quests that you want to complete, return to Dutthryn at the western gate of the Ruins of Caanae and say the word "done" to him. He will award you with gold and experience dependent on how many quests that you've completed.

You can check your quest status at any time with the command EVENTQUESTS or EQUESTS for short. At the top of that summary, you will see how many days you've completed all 5 event quests out of the total number of days so far in the month. If you complete all 5 quests on 21 of the days of the month, you will earn a permanent amulet as a badge of merit. This amulet will also have a powerful ability that will be revealed on the 21st day of the month.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
