During the last two weeks, I took a break from the project I was undertaking and worked on developing a system to play cards. This project was prompted by one of the Celani's gambling habits and based on the concept proposed by Kialae: it is better to give players a deck of cards and allow them to play as they want. Born from that is this new artifact.

CARDTABLEs have multiple customisable facets. You may run card games of up to 20 players, use multiple decks of cards, choose what suits are used, if players can discard cards, pass cards to other players, deal cards to players or the table.

Cardtables are completely player-run and driven. There are no timers. There is no NPC telling you what to do next. Players will need to communicate with each other and thus create a proper game environment. Heck, Garryn was able to beat me at a few hands just because of the change in emoticons and betting style.

One of the major features of this system is the ability to play pre-defined games. Desert Poker and Go Fish will probably be a hit. Hell, you can totally play snap.

The current standard of games (Poker, 5Poker, GoFish and Snap) will probably be expanded in time. I intend to add in a variant of "Uno", new card games based on suggestions and more poker variants.
