As promised, I have opened up classlead report submissions again. For this round, the topic will be on Aspects, bashing, and gaining experience.
I will be firing up my bashing breakdown spreadsheet and looking at the relative bashing abilities of each profession and see where changes are needed in terms of survivability, damage output, and resource management (endurance, willpower, etc).
I also have some ideas for potential changes to address the disparity in critical hit damage between fast combo professions and slow single-attack professions.
Please feel free to use the classlead system to bring to my attention any particular aspects of profession (or general) skills as they pertain to bashing and gaining experience.
As far as Aspects go, I will not be making any drastic redesign changes to the Aspect system, monoliths, or the PvP combat required to fully participate in level 100+ content. I do anticipate that I will be making some changes to how Aspect "activity" is calculated and how that affects monolith turnover.
I am most interested in getting some ideas for new Aspect powers, changes to existing Aspect powers, subtle changes to the mechanics behind the level 100+ system, or other exciting and fun additions you'd like to see added to high-level content.
When submitting classlead reports regarding Aspect changes that do not apply to existing profession/general skills, please use the skillname "Aspects" when creating your reports, and please use an informative and short ability name to describe your idea. The usual restrictions on submitting and interacting with classlead reports will apply.
Even though this round of classleads relates to gaining experience, please do -not- submit any reports regarding questing in general, specific quests, or gold generation. We're in the process of making some internal changes to how questing works in Imperian, and are looking forward to making changes to quests when we are ready for it. Suggestions/ideas for gold sinks are always appreciated, however, and I do anticipate that gold will play a substantial role in new high-level content.
I will leave report submission open for one week, and will close them on or around the end of the day on Friday, September 17th. At that point, I will then open up the reports for a week of endorsement/censure. In the meantime, I plan to devote time to wiping out some bugs and working on the basic plans that I have in store for the Aspect system.
Yes, I know that the term "classlead" doesn't apply perfectly to this topic, but the system works well and I'm very pleased with the way information is collected and presented to me. I am satisfied with the way that it allows many people to participate in the idea submission process, as well as providing everyone with a codified method to rank their interests and keep me informed as to the ideas and problems in Imperian that they are most enthusiastic about.
Please keep in mind that the classlead process is in no way democratic. You're not really voting for anything. A high "ranking" does not guarantee that your suggestions will be implemented. I use the classlead reports as a way to gather and collate information and to allow me to get a feel for what players are interested in seeing. You're providing me with information, and I very much appreciate that information and am pleased with how smoothly the process has been running. I only wish that I had more time to devote to working exclusively on those changes so that I could get them out sooner for you.
