Guild Health is a Go!

In between working on classleads and Defilers, as well as the usual customer service related tasks that take up so much of my time, I've spent a little bit of time working on the guild health system, as it's been a fairly popular request lately.

I'm pleased with the long-term effects of the formulas, but I've made a few very slight changes to the way affinity and member activity scores affect your guild's health. They should be a little bit more forgiving.

The guild health system is now live and active! Guilds will be deleted!

I've reset all guilds that were below 300 points in guild health to 300. If your guild drops below 150 points, Cerise and the tour will no longer automatically induct people into your guild. Since the most you can drop is 5 points per real-life day, this gives you one full month to try and turn your guild around.

If your guild drops to 0 points, we will begin planning an event of some sort of cataclysmic nature that will completely destroy your guild. You don't want that. We don't really want that. So make sure to keep your guild as active as possible, recruit as much new blood as you can, give lots of guildfavours every day, and make sure to keep your guildmembers' affinity as high as possible.

Truthfully, nobody wants to see their guild deleted. But the fact of the matter is that we have too many guilds in Imperian right now, and we need to get rid of some of them. I expect that the guilds that are outside of and not loyal to cities will probably not survive, and duplicate guilds with the same class will have difficulties. Also, low-population guilds that do not have guildhall addons for specific professions will probably struggle.

I'm genuinely sorry to say that some of your guilds are going to die. That's one of the reasons why it's taken so long to get the guild health system to this point, as I really wanted to make sure that the system would be fair, and most importantly, that it would give you plenty of advance warning to let you know that your guild is not doing well.

If you find that your guild is struggling, please feel free to contact me and I will try and advise you on what you can do to try and help your guild thrive. Ultimately, however, the fact is that some guilds are going to have to die, and in doing so, help us build a series of tighter communities in Imperian. Thank you very much for your understanding.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
